Protecting Children is Everybody's Business
Protecting Children, a local study commissioned by United Way and conducted by researchers at the University of Western Ontario, found that woman abuse, poverty, mental health issues and poor parenting skills are driving up the number of children in care at the Children's Aid Society of London and Middlesex. It is the largest study of its kind in Canada and reflects a province-wide issue of increased rates of children in CAS care. United Way and several community partners have responded to the issues with the pilot project Family Networks.
Welcoming Cultural Diversity
United Way is proud to co-chair the Welcoming Cultural Diversity steering committee with the City of London.
