United Way improves lives, builds potential

At United Way, we believe that together we can do so much more than we can alone.

We bring together community leaders to identify needs, find solutions and take action. We strengthen non-profits with training for volunteers and staff. We coach youth to be active in shaping their community.

Working together we build an organized safety net of core community services for people in immediate need. We get to the root causes of community issues in order to build solutions for the long-term. And we build the momentum towards fundamental change for our society through education and advocacy.

What we do 

With business, government, labour, non-profit and community leaders, United Way:

• Identifies and understands the root causes of the social issues we face
• Brings together the needed research, experts and resources
• Initiates and invests in programs that hold the most promise for long-term solutions
• Develops leaders and skills to strengthen the non-profit sector
