Through the development of policies, United Way of London & Middlesex's Board of Directors sets the organization’s vision and direction, monitors and accesses the raising and investing of funds and takes responsibility for the overall performance of the organization – ensuring United Way is fulfilling its mission.

Phyllis Retty is the Country Leader, Total Compensation Resource Centres at 3M Canada Company, where she has worked for 29 years. She completed her Certified Management Accountant in 1989. Phyllis has been Chair of the 3M Employees Charitable Contributions Organization (ECCO) since 2001 and has been actively involved in the United Way campaign at 3M. Her husband, Carl Hallberg, has served on our Allocations Committees and Campaign Cabinet. Phyllis is the outgoing Chair of the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada and a former director of the YMCA/YWCA Board. She currently Chairs the Research Committee of the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.
